Congratulations! You are cordially invited to join the Lake Gooseberry Shinny, or "LGS," Gooseberry's very own pick-up hockey league. Beginning its second year this December, 2013, these shinny games are casual, fun, no-strings hockey matches with randomized teams.
Lake Gooseberry Shinny is a staff-sanctioned method to get your frustration out in a way that won't contribute to the House Mug or get you detention. Yes, I understand that may be a novel concept to you right now.
Sign-up sheets will be available in the atrium at first snowfall. The first match will take place one week after the lake freezes over, which usually happens in December.
We hope to see you there.
Sincerely, Quinn Cunningham Organizer
P.S. Goalies need not apply.
Shinny invitations are not exclusive to Junior Fight Club participants and are open to all Gooseberry High students.
The rules needed some revisions after last year and they'll be posted with the sign-up sheets. Revisions include: mandatory helmets, a staff-approved list of "Acceptable Forms of Contact," and colour-coded badges to denote acceptable levels of violence contact per player.
