As promised, Cecil again spent part of the evening baking, this time making a caramel chocolate cake for Hazel and some of her (supposedly helpful) classmates. While he doesn't know why, he's also written the word 'CAMPS' in the middle of the cake in caramel icing. He isn't going to ask. He shows up at the Coppertale camp not long before curfew to deliver the cake, carefully stored in a blue cake box.

Déjà vu?

Just like the other day, he seems pleased with how the dessert turned out and he's happy to bring it out to Hazel. Hopefully, she won't mind that it's arriving today instead of tomorrow. With his classes back to back almost all Thursday morning, now seemed better than later.

Hazel is, unsurprisingly, overjoyed by the cake Cecil has made. After setting the box aside carefully she gives him a very aggressive hug on her tip toes as she beams at him. She'll bring it to dinner tomorrow with all her friends, she assures him, before thanking him profusely for taking the time to make them something nice. Hazel tells Cecil she loves him about four times. She maybe even looks a little teary eyed?? It's unclear if this is actually the case, and if it is why on earth she's feeling so emotional.
