Okay.

1. I don't know? Is there a way to tell? She asked me what my plans were for break and suggested we hang out on that Friday. But I'm the one who invited her to DC and told her she can stay in my hotel room.

2. We're going to the National Air and Space Museum. I think she wants to go to the Smithsonian, too.

2b. Why thank you. I do try. I replaced my brain to hand/mouth filter after our little fire extinguisher incident. It's a new brand, though. We'll see how it goes.

You work fa–[...] Oh my God, you're a couple of nerds. There's nothing to worry about. You'll die brilliant virgins and it will all be very sweet.

I hate you. Why do I tell you anything?

Because you don't hate me, you love me?

I guess.

Do you have any actual advice for me or did you just goad information out of me so you can gloat?

:) I'm done gloating for now, I promise. Wingman Mode activated.

Dates are grey areas, but if she asked you to hang out and then agreed to spend the night in DC... I think that's a good sign. Aside from your romantic museum tour, what's on the books? Are you getting dinner? Going on a walking tour? Wait, no, you'll probably die. Taking in a show? Getting naughty? [...] Or have you literally only planned your museums, thereby making it ten times more difficult for your bestie to judge the date potential of your Spring Break?

It's not a fling. Don't jinx me.

I've literally only planned the museum thing, solely to make your wingmanning job more difficult. But, seriously, I don't want to freak her out by like... rolling up with an agenda for the evening. That seems creepy. I guess I'll see if she shows up in a sweatsuit or a dress and go from there.

Okay, sorry. I didn't mean to imply and/or jinx your present situation. It was just so catchy, like the flu...

You're right, that would be weird as shit. [...] When does she arrive? You're wearing a suit for your MACUSA shit, right? You should conveniently not have time to change before she gets there. You look goddamn dashing in those things so you'll get a chance to dazzle her regardless and that way you won't be over- or under-dressed depending on what she's wearing. Then you can change to match the vibe.

You were going to pun again, weren't you? You're incorrigible.

See! This is why I keep you around. Thank you. That's so smart. Women are so crafty. I don't know what I would do without you. Probably panic and wear track pants and a suit coat.

What can I say? You bring out the worst in me.

I'm just here to help you on your first date. Seriously dude, I'm going to spring for the international texting whatsit plan. You'll be hopeless with Ivy while I'll be watching Prickardo get married on my boyfriend's birthday. We're going to need each other to survive. And to dress properly. Even if Raf's family's taking care of th

Excuse you. We bring out the worst in each other.

This is totally a date, isn't it? I don't know who hurt her in the past and made her drop her standards lower than Shemika Charles doing the limbo, but I would like to shake their hand.

We need to win this murder game so we can afford to internationally text each other from the bathroom. I don't know if I can help you with your outfit, though. I don't understand women's fashion. How is a medium anything from a size 2 to a size 10?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

wow ty for that contextual link

Awww. ♥

[...] Yeah, it definitely is. No one tries to go to that many museums unless they're trying to bore their companion to death or they find their brain sexy. You're going on a motherfucking nerd date, McBride. Are you PUMPED yet?!

Seriously. Otherwise I'll be trying to stuff my journal into my clutch andβ€”[...] I could manage that expandable charm for the evening. Think you could do it for your pocket? Hopefully it doesn't blow a hole in your leg. I don't think I'll need help with outfit itself since apparently the Ramirezes have all of that covered for we wee guests who need to look impeccable for the press. [...] Is it okay for me to be a tiny bit insulted by that? And because capitalism.

Museums are cool, you twerp. We're going to a Spy Museum. I don't know what that entails, but it sounds fucking dope. I hope I get to expose a Commie espionage plot, because capitalism.

That's probably the better option. My journal can fit in the inside of a suit jacket pocket, because men's clothes are actually functional. Do you think Ty would lend you his expandable bag? Or will he get all cranky that you need your journal to survive the night?

Seriously? They're dressing all their guests? That's... insane. And your cleavage dress is hot. Just wear that.

Then you'll definitely get the girl. Tearing down the Reds is what girls crave. [...] It's a period thing.

That's actually a good idea. I'll ask, thanks. (I don't know if he's capable of being cranky? And if I explain that it's my bestie's first date he can't possibly say no, can he?)

I don't know if it's all of them; it may just be the ones connected to the wedding party. Hey, I know it's fucking hot, but it's not wedding-appropriate. I always borrow my cousins' dresses for weddings. Apparently not this time. I'm expecting to look like a nun.

Please stop. What is wrong with you?

I don't know how he does it. Do you think he's constantly on molly or something? Who is that happy all the time? (But if you think he won't be upset, that's probably the way to go. And this is not my first date. It's just my first date with a nice girl).

Just get in good with the bride. Like, make sure you're the one who finds her in the bathroom when she has her inevitable pre-wedding meltdown. Then you can basically do/wear whatever you want. That's how it always goes in the movies.

Nothing, McBride. I'm an ideal specimen.

Hopefully he's not? Drug abuse isn't really my thing. Either way, I'll see if I can borrow his bag so we can gossip all night long, washroom-to-washroom.
Ooh, have you had dates with bad girls that you kept from me?!

[...] The bride is Crisitane. Azurcrest, a year above us? You should remember her? Horrible taste in men?

And so humble!

At least, those kinds of drugs. [...] I have a life outside of Gooseberry, y'know. Every girl in Buffalo is either rebelling against their staunchly Catholic parents or a legitimate low-level crime boss.

Look! You already have something in common! I know who the bride is, I just couldn't remember how to spell her name.

Right?!

Well, obviously. And they're all clamouring for your affections? Say it ain't so.

There are too many extra letters involved. [...] I don't think I can win her over, though. I'm stuck with the lot I have.
