The anonymous writer is operating on utilizing the journals in a way none of us know how to yet. It doesn't necessarily mean it's complicated or beyond our abilities, it just means we haven't figured it out yet. Maybe another student has.

Pretty sure the staff has probably decided that we just use these journals to shit talk each other and are relatively harmless and have ruled us out as suspects.

But that could also be what the anonymous writer is banking on.
