If these masks for the masquerade are supposed to conceal our identities, does it change or conceal the appearance of our clothes too? Hypothetically speaking, if someone wanted to wear their sweatpants and be comfortable for the whole night could they get away with it?

From what I understand, the charm manipulates how we perceive an individual's physical traits, not their dress. Mr. Calderon-Boot said that it works by fogging our ability to connect the appearance of the person wearing the mask to our memories. Even after the masks are removed, we won't be able to suddenly recall who one another were because the magic prevented us from committing certain details to our long term memory.

The end result will be that they can tell you're wearing joggers, but they won't know who you are in order to properly judge you for it.

So if my poor ass wants to wear the suit I wore to winter formal, would people be able to recognize me by my suit? Cause I can't afford to dress for all these dances tbh

I mean, it'd be easier for Cecil to keep track of me but I don't wanna cramp his style by making it obvious that I'm wearing the same thing.
