RIBBONFIN CONTRABAND PARTY

After a ridiculous long Quidditch game, a heart-breaking loss, a mysteriously missing golden snitch, and the warning of an upcoming cabin search, the Ribbonfin House has decided to have a little "contraband party." Mostly, it's a little bonfire get together to sulk and eat a lot of junk food. Maybe bash a little on the Ebonhides, who knows.

RULES

ONLY Ribbonfin's allowed. No party crashers!

Everyone bring something to eat!

If you can, bring plates/napkins/cups - smuggle them if you have to!

The party dies just before Curfew, but a few may linger longer - the likelihood of getting in trouble is very low.

Actual contraband may be consumed/disposed of here but PREFECTS ARE WATCHING so, it's at your own risk!

BONFIRE - Where they all hang out - who's chatting, who's cuddling, commiserate in this section etc etc

SNACKS - Post what all they brought here!!

CONTRABAND - Did they have anything they really needed to get rid of?

OOC - Questions, comments, etc

After doing a bit of setting up, Avery is too exhausted to keep trying to help organize/host/set up this little shindig, so she leaves it to the other Fins who helped organize this idea with her and goes to sit down at the bonfire.

She has a large blanket, and several different types of candies laid out in front of her. She's definitely more on the moping side of things, but she has a smile for anyone who says hello!

Teo took no part in actually organizing this party, and he doesn't have a lot of contraband, but once he gets there, he does systematically go from person to person, setting a paper crown on each and every head he passes.

That's his entire contribution here, and he looks very pleased with it.

There's no real way of figuring out exactly why he has so many paper crowns on hand to begin with, but it's probably not surprising.

Rosy doesn't even have any junk food. But she claimed one of Chloe's many bags of Gummi bears as her contribution to the cause. She's mostly here to see how much of a stomachache everyone is going to have in the morning. And to remind them to brush their teeth before going to bed. Pretty much just to unnecessarily micromanage people who are doing fine on their own.

She's not even here to have fun, she's just reading a book, like a fucking nerd, go back inside.

Ferdie does not have any junk food to contribute either. And he's trying really hard to not see exactly how much pot Teo had under his nose the whole time; that'll just make him feel like a bad prefect. And Rosy has a good idea, so he drags a book from his cabin and sits down next to his co-prefect. "We can make a whole boring corner." he is careful to not be loud.

Rosy hadn't even noticed anyone was smoking anything until she looked up, and then--Jesus Christ, was that Avery? If any of the teachers came by right now, they were going to catch the Quidditch Captain smoking in front of her own cabin and that would definitely get you kicked off the school team. Looking around, she spied Ravi looking similarly distressed at the level of prefecting a Ribbonfin party was suddenly asking for, and decided to emulate his and Ferdie's blind eye technique. We'll see how that goes.

"Good, we need to keep a level head around here," Rosy kids Ferdie, and she doesn't want to say how relieved she is to know she's not the only self-admitted boring prefect tonight. Which you would think that would be the only kind of prefect in Ribbonfin, and you wouldn't be completely wrong. "If anyone gets too much of a sugar high, we need to be here to walk them back to their cabin."

Ferdie will try to keep his blind eye. But he's taking cues from Ravi and since it doesn't seem to be out of control...quite yet, his book will be fine. If it gets worse, they'll have to see.He deeply hopes they're not going to have to deal with letting sophomores experiment. Or all of a sudden the entire Quidditch team being high.
But those are future problems.

"A dangerous job. But someone's got to do it." He flips a page of his book, deadpan. "Only we can fight against cavities." He takes another quick glance around to make sure no other drugs were introduced in the last three seconds. "At least no one brought Baileys this time."

Ravi is being a horrible prefect. No one cares, he silently tells himself, but somehow that doesn't ease the gnawing sense of guilt at letting his responsibilities lapse. Mr. Hightower would be so disappointed in him. What if they're caught? What if the teachers ask questions about how Ravi could've possibly allowed this to happen? Oh, God. His parents would be so disappointed in him.

He knows he's driving himself crazy by worrying. It's with some relief when Ravi spots one of the sanest people he knows by the fire, even if he and Tabitha are currently experiencing some... conflict. He tries to act as casual as possible when he approaches Tabitha.

"Please tell me that you're not getting high tonight."

Ravi laughs at her reaction. "Apparently, it's a night for unexpected behaviour. I'm trying not to look, but our Quidditch captain is getting adventurous. I worried you might too." He smiles at Tabitha. It's nice, getting to talk to her like normal. He's not sure how to act around her anymore, but can't imagine not being her friend. "Just contraband candy for you tonight, then?"

"That's quidditch players for ya" Tabs drawls dryly, not the bouncy and peppy self she usually is, but at least talking to him. She's still kind of mad that he didn't tell her before the others, but she can't say that without worrying that people won't take her concerns seriously. Oh well.

"Who said anything about contraband? MY stuff is all wrapped properly" Tabs grins a little, brandishing a fully wrapped granola bar.

Xavier is sitting by the fire with at least four boxes of puffed sugar kids' cereal, marshmallows, and rice crackers. He is constructing some serious eldritch horrors here so swing by and grab one and maybe test his blood sugar while you're here, because I'm a little worried.

He is a bit distracted, thinking about birds and, like, whether they're just as intelligent as humans or not. What does "bird brain" even really mean??

Ursula has barely spoken to her Sweetest Couple co-winner since the contest because, well, everyone knows they aren't actually a couple. But when she sees the monstrosity that Xavier is concocting, she finds herself primly settling down next to him at the fire.

"Are you seriously planning to eat that," she asks, watching him work with a mixture of horror and curiosity.

Xavier glances at Ursula out of the corner of his eye. He snorts out a laugh. "I dunno, dude, this is, like, my magnum opus, maybe?" He punctuates this statement by pressing the confetti-colored creation together. The marshmallow oozes over the sides of the rice cookie, pornographic.

He'd been... not avoiding Ursula since the tea, but--okay no he was totally avoiding her. Xavier stares at his pretty, terrible, pretty terrible creation, feeling awkward. "Wanna split it with me?"

Ursula sincerely hopes this isn't actually anyone's magnum opus, but there's a certain whimsy to the creation that's appealing. Not that she's going to admit that she approached Xavier fully intending to sample his sugar coma sandwich. There are appearances that must be maintained.

Frankly she's a little surprised he hasn't started looking for the nearest escape route, since he's not exactly been subtle about it this last week.

Asher rolls up with a bit of whiskey on his breath (and a tiny buzz going). He's apparently taken it upon himself to get rid of his actual contraband before coming to the party to avoid encouraging any of his housemates and to avoid giving Ravi a heart attack. Is he your favorite child again yet, Ravi????

He seems a little more subdued than usual but he is ready to eat your junk food, fellow Ribbonfins.

Has Ravi consumed any sugar tonight? Is that why he seems so high-strung right now, or is that just Ravi's default behavior? (Probably the latter.) In times of stress, Ravi goes to the one person he can always rely upon to tell him that he needs to relax. Which is... all of his Ribbonfriends, honestly, but Asher's here right now and not currently stuffing a metric ton of melted candy into his mouth.

"I'm a terrible prefect," Ravi informs him, before taking the liberty to sit down beside Asher and dropping his face in both hands.

When Ravi speaks Asher looks up at him, and the moment he's seated he reaches out to gently pat him on the back. He looks faintly concerned, but for the moment he'll withhold his fussing. After a moment Asher gives his friend a slightly amused smile, hoping to calm his nerves some.

"Well, first of all I can easily name a few prefects who are significantly worse than you, so you're not bottom of the barrel at least. Second, you really aren't terrible at all; you're helping a lot of people, and this has got to be just about the most adorable contraband party ever."
