JUNIOR/SOPHOMORE MONTHLY BONDING ACTIVITY

JUNIOR/SOPHOMORE
MONTHLY BONDING ACTIVITY

Mrs. O'Hare and Mr. Thorn walk the large group of Sophomores and Juniors out to the lake. It's cold, but the lake is too large to freeze entirely. There's a lot of extra gear, including life jackets, magical gloves to keep hands warm, hats and waterproof coats, because it's time for a lesson on winter kayaking!

After a long lecture about safety, the students are told they'll be allowed to have some simple races to the island and back. You may race three times: once with your assigned partner(s), and two more times with different teams. There are some three person kayaks available.

The two teams with the best times get a beautiful flyfishing lure made from peacock feathers, one for each participant. There's a safety pin on the back that allows it to be worn as a brooch, but the pin can be easily vanished with the tap of a wand to make it into a functional lure. It's nearly invulnerable, and twitches slightly like it's a living insect. There must be some fascination charm on it, because it's difficult to take your eyes off of it. Mrs. O'Hare informs the student that Headmistress Bloom made them all by hand.

Before and after, there's a generous amount of hot chocolate available, and a bonfire has been set up on the beach for students chatting and taking breaks.

THE RULES
  • Follow all safety procedures! You must be properly dressed and equipped to be allowed onto the lake.
  • No sabotaging your opponents! It's just not safe, kids.
  • You can engage in some friendly competitive banter, but respect your opponents!
  • Take lots of breaks and stay warm!
  • You can enter three times. The first time must be with your assigned partner, the second and third times may be with anyone.
  • Your time will be calculated via RNG. There is a chance of your character's kayak tipping over with a particularly low score.

The pairings are as follows:

Sybilla & Reid
Veronica & Olivia
Cameron & Reece
Casper & Sylvester
Jonathan & Micah
Avery & Lachlan
Ursula & Victoria
Rosemary & Susana
Ferdinand & Hazel
Matteo & Ariadne
Ennis & Milo
Kurt & Hayley
Sofia & Isabelle
Estella & Chloe
Mackenzie & Ulysses
Jaime & Adeline Roxanne & Solomon Saira & Joanna
Coralee & Calvin Casey & Gabriela Dominic & Katerina
Cole & Jefferson Jacob & William Sebastien & Riley
Regan & Marilyn Frances & Clementine

» Preparation: Get on your gear and greet your partners! All students need a lifejacket, appropriate coat, gloves and pants. If you don't have them, the school will provide. Unfortunately, what the school has on hand is bulky and extremely unflattering. Mr. Thorn is quick to remind everyone that safety is sexy, and no one's getting in a boat without being properly dressed!

» Racing: Post here with your entries into the race, and feel free to play out a little kayaking scene on the water with your partner(s).

» Around the Bonfire: Warm up, take a break and socialize. There's hot chocolate and s'mores, and as the day comes to a close and the activity ends, you're welcome to stay until curfew and have fun.

» OOC - Questions, comments, concerns!

Please fill out the following form and post it to RACING in order to participate and qualify for the prize.
Characters: Who are the two/three characters in your boat?
Attempt Number: Is this their first, second or third race?
Experience: Do they have any experience kayaking/boating?
Performance: How did they do this time?
Number Score: Give them an overall score between 1–10.

BEST TIMES
  1. Uly & Kenzie (6:20)

  2. Solo & Roxie (7:02)

  3. Sy & Casper (7:19)

how does cricket feel about their detective work after the seance lmao

solo's journal post is a great example of why the sophomores aren't involved in the ghost hunting because they're all nice and precious and respectful and concerned about big brother watching them instead of the person they just talked to over an ouija board

it's beautiful. i should've apped four sophomores tbh

they're worried about not carrying out their errand and disappointing it, like they're gonna get a bad grade in delivering ghostly messages

and jeffy wants to leave anon a thank you note for letting them party in its home

like who raised you jeffy, who still writes thank you notes

Oh my god so does Solomon

He feels really bad about taking advantage of anon's hospitality

Dude

The sophomore class should put together a thank you card and sign it and leave cute thank you messages on it and take it with them to the next grotto party

If anything posing as anon tries to get into a cabin during a lock down next time

They better pick a sophomore cabin (or teo and ennis's cabin lbr) Bc half these sophomores would 100% probably invite anon in at this point.

To be perfectly honest, she's just kinda bitter that suddenly everybody thinks ghost hunting is their thing and she is secretly brooding about how NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING and SHE'S THE ORIGINAL GHOST HUNTER (the real OG)

she and robin really are related

because robin is doing the exact same thing

while also singing soft lullabies to virgil

Being a huge brat runs in the family

But so does being super cute. Virgil <3 <3

Gives Cricket a break from the metaplot though, so I can actually develop her in some other way for once, because, "Guess y'all got this" *ANGRILY SIPS TEA*

afaik if anyone's the original ghost hunters, it's diego/cecil/levi although their interest has kind of scattered. like i know some of them are still interested but they're not as focused anymore

and after them, robin and tess are the ones who were asking serious investigative questions on the anon post first?

gay feels are the anon's best weapon

none of you will ever uncover this mystery so long as you're busy discussing your crushes on the new moon

Oh definitely, I wasn't even in the game when the real investigating started, but when have facts ever stopped a Quayle/Robinson from insisting that they're right?
