I'm closing the advice box Wednesday morning to give time for advice givers, so final call for any questions you might anonymously want to ask your classmates!

[Warded to Ravi]
Should I ask how you got those spots
Feeling ok? I heard it's just the 'freckles' and not anything else, right?

Do I want to know what you crossed out
I haven't inspected myself yet. Do you suppose there's call for concern?

Nah, I just can't let you prefects do all the fussing! It'll all blow over like it normally does - just wanted to check in. Ultimately I'm sure there's nothing to worry about, given the frequency of infectious disease-type things here.

[...]

Come to think of it, Gooseberry really needs to get it together.

At the risk of being mocked, I did actually spent a half-hour searching my magical disease reference book for the symptom of "bright blue spots." Normally, people wouldn't even worry that this was a real thing, but who knows with wizards?

Does this mean you're opting out of bottle games this month?

I nearly looked it up too, honestly. You never know. I got a really bad cold once when I was like 5 and was convinced it was 'Wizard Sick' and I was going to grow a beard like Merlin and have to wear glasses.

...that was supposed to reassure you that being concerned about strange diseases in a wizarding context isn't ridiculous, but given that the example I presented is from when I was a small child, that could maybe be misinterpreted. The point is, whatever, no shame, research is good.

As for the bottle games, we'll... see how I'm feeling.

Oh... there are in fact magical afflictions which cause stupendous beard growth. Not bright blue spots though, so I suppose we're all safe, unless this is some sort of biological warfare cooked up by a freshman in Potions. [...] Which isn't entirely out of the realm of possibility at this school. Sigh.

Don't consider this peer pressure. I tried bottle games once, and satisfied my curiosity. I'm not the recreational kissing type, I suppose. But... I don't know. It's not the worst thing if you want a fun distraction?

Well then, see! Your fear is completely warranted. It totally makes sense to look it up. And it also totally makes sense to suspect the freshman. :|

Also, you are the last person I'd be concerned about peer pressuring me into anything, I promise. I'm just trying to pick Asher Disaster Level for the upcoming party, which can be gauged in number of smooching partners! I need a bit of fun.

[...]

You shouldn't feel peer pressured to either. You don't have to be a recreational kissing type just because pretty much everyone else here is a ball of hormones.

P.S. I appreciate our eternal fussing about one another, dude.
