To our dear darling daughter,

Mummy and Daddy wish you the happiest of birthdays, our sweet girl. News of your progress hardly surprises us in the slightest, and we are immeasurably proud of the powerful, intelligent, strong young woman you have grown up to be. We only regret we cannot spend this important birthday with you, but we do hope you are celebrating with your new American friends. Know you are forever in our hearts, even if oceans separate us for the time being. We are always thinking of you and you are always making us the proudest parents of all. You never cease to be a blessing to us both, darling Sybilla.

Daddy simply cannot wait to see your duelling prowess first hand, and Mummy has so missed hugs from you. The ring belonged to your uncle Caractacus, and is imbued with a blood magic spell to flush a crimson red when one of the family is in mortal peril. Mummy passes down the pendant to you, we know how fond you are of ravens. It was a bereavement present to her cousin, a Selwyn, after her ~~Rosier~~ husband passed. You may analyze the metal for any lingering protective spells on the item, and report back to Daddy when you return home for Christmas with your findings.
