the quinn thing i can't figure out
When Quinn has to lay down the law as a Prefect she's very no-nonsense, matter-of-fact, and calm (oft cold). She wouldn't yell at a student; she'd give them a very stern look, tell them "x was wrong and you should know better," and 'request' that her time isn't wasted. To her friends, though, she can be... kind of mean. She points things out VERY. CLEARLY. and doesn't sugarcoat any of it. She swears profusely. She's said "Don't be a motherfucking dumbass, this is your goddamn fault and you know it is, so act like a fucking adult for the first time in your life." more than once but then again, Chris Park is one of her best friends.

But she's been running herself ragged this past month and bottling it all up, especially now, and she'll keep doing it until she's made to realize that she needs to slow the hell down and she's trying to do way too much.

I'm trying to decide the best way to give her this ~moment of clarity.~

She's stressed out enough that it would be IC for her to have trouble separating how she deals with conflict as a Prefect from how she deals with conflict personally; it would also be her first time experiencing this. My original idea was to have her lash out at a student she has to deal with as a Prefect (maybe they pulled a particularly heartless prank, or did something that seems extra dangerous because of all the spoopy things happening, or something else), and have a third party talk her down after the fact.

BUT I'm worried about stepping into Casper territory because I realized there are key similarities: Prefect takes negative emotions out on someone who doesn't deserve it, is steadied by a third person.

I want to make sure this plot doesn't step on the Casper-plot's toes, but I'm trying to figure out how to distance it enough? Lashing out unfairly isn't so uncommon, especially with teenagers and/or those who tend toward anger, which they both experience. And Quinn would need that third party because otherwise she'd stew and ultimately decide that she was in the right and it's the student's fault for being an idiot, not hers. (Which is obviously... not true.)

Sooo that's what I need help with. The resemblance between the two plots didn't occur to me until after I'd been thinking about it for a while, and I want to proceed with caution!! I come requesting input, feedback, and/or volunteers for...
(1) how to ensure this isn't an unfortunate copy-plot I promise that isn't what I'm trying to do. :(((
(2) the poor victim: volunteers? They don't have to know Quinn; and what did they do? (A li'l log for this one?)
(3) someone to be like 'dude, y'all need to chill.' #3 ideally be someone familiar with Quinn's work habits, etc., so at least a fellow Prefect and/or friend. (Journal talk or log, your choice.)

help?

(FYI, the two things she wouldn't do are get into a physical fight or destroy something sooo those are off the table.)
