"You know what? Never mind, forget I said anything," Aveline shook her head, closing up. She didn't want to do this with him, not if he was going to be a douchebag about it. She knew she expected too much of the man. He didn't seem at all mature to her, even if they were sitting here.
Aveline hugged herself, feeling stupid as she dropped her eyes. Life was never fair, why should it be different now? She was on her own for this one, at least in the partner department. Angelina and her sister were going to be her support system, her parents when she got around to telling them.
Their food arrived and Aveline thanked the waitress quietly. She felt exposed just sitting there and wanted nothing more than to leave. So much for the other thing.
