Michael shook his head. "I was just curious. I like Alec." Dresden was a little weird for his tastes, but it wasn't as though he was going to argue with anything Aveline chose.
"I..." He frowned. He was willing to go to her doctor's appointment with her, if she wanted company, but going to prenatal classes just seemed... weird. Sort of dishonest. They weren't really partners. For that matter, they weren't even friends yet, just people who'd slept together once. But he couldn't flat-out refuse. He'd seem unsupportive, and he felt guilty about that. The kid was at least half his fault, after all. "Sure, I'll go with you to your appointment. Do you need partners for that class? Are there like trust falls or something?" He tried to make it sound like a joke, but it fell flat.
