Michael realized, when Roger gave him that strange look, that he probably sounded utterly mad. At least he hadn't made an excuse to run out of the place. That was the mark of a true friend. But he'd better get this over with. He took another gulp of his drink and tried to grin at Roger's joke, but it probably looked like an awful grimace. "That's right. And I probably would have never given her a second thought, but she tracked me down--or rather, she recognized me when we bumped into each other randomly. That's the good news." He paused and took the opportunity to take another drink. It was almost gone now. "The bad news is... she's pregnant. She's going to have a baby, and I'm its dad."
He watched Roger's expression, waiting for the news to sink in.
