The squeeze to his arm reminded him that he wasn't here on his own and that he wouldn't be much company for Daphne if he slipped into the quiet surely mood. Surely, he was making the entire event out to be far worse than it was. It wasn't anything he couldn't handle, of course.
With Daphne's commentary on the state of various fashions (or lack there of), it wasn't too difficult to put on a brave face. "I'm very glad you're always willing to choose my outfit. I'd hate to think what you'd say about it if you didn't," he smirked, teasing her. There had been the odd time when Daphne had complained about his attire, but you simply couldn't spend as much time together as they did and not learn a thing or two.
Leading the two of them through the less than desirable crowd, Theodore steered them in the direction of the bar. He wasn't sure about her, but he was going to need it. "I suppose you're right. Well, let's just say tolerable company, then." he responded, amusement lacing his tone as she spotted the offensive sequined outfit.
