If Daphne was being honest with herself, something she isn't very often, she's highly worried and using the trip to Diagon as a means to distance and distract herself from the possibility of her father and brother being hunted down by Aurors. In Diagon Alley she can concentrate on keeping herself at a suitable distance from those around her, concentrate on things she didn't truly need and push the worries of her family life aside.
Not that it worked really. At every turn she kept thinking they would pop up out of the wood work to weasel their way back into her life. Daphne wasn't sure how she felt about it all, worried sick for her family well, more so herself and Astoria. She believed in Voldemort's plans but believing and being stupid enough to give yourself to life long servitude were two very different things. Daphne huffed softly as she tugged her light grey cardigan tighter around her, since doing a number of muggle clients her own wardrobe had begun adapting and had gained many, many treasures. She had nothing against muggles really, they were a necessity but one that should be kept out of the wizarding world, or at the very least they should not have the audacity to come in and then try and change things they didn't like.
Daphne frowned, pausing, she was getting herself all worked up again and that just wouldn't do! Taking a deep breath she cast her gaze around, trying very hard not to allow a look of disgust to creep onto her features. Unlike many of her fellow Slytherins who were adept at schooling their features into something neutral Daphne was too much a creature of heart and often found it a little difficult. Especially when she did finally find something of interest. Or in this case someone. A smile ghosted on her lips as she spied him, fingers momentarily dancing over her lips as she decided whether to go and talk to him or not. Would he know who she was? Did it matter? She could have a little fun if not...
"Oh, merlin, the Oliver Wood?" Daphne gushed, eyes wide with excitement. While Daphne generally could not feign indifference she could act like an excited little fangirl, it was an easy side step for her usual personality. "Are you really?" Now, Daphne just hoped that her Quidditch information was up to date otherwise this wouldn't be all that fun.
