Since our virus is essentially rabies and capable of infecting both humans and animals, the risk of infection is the same either way. A scratch doesn't guarantee the person will contract the virus but it puts them in danger as any infected fluid getting into their open wound (blood, spit) would definitely be enough to transmit it.
