Rachel quelled the urge to throw all her carefully coordinated charts, the result of hours of hard work, on the ground so she could make a dramatic exit. For one thing, time had proven it ineffective, and for another thing, Rachel Berry was a lot of things, but cliche was not one of them. At least not often.
Instead, she shot Finn a grateful smile and then said, "Noah, I believe that beating Vocal Adrenaline at its own game is a far more effective revenge than slashing their tires." Rachel's tone was more affectionate than haughty, however. She remembered Puck trying to lead all the boys of New Directions off to beat up Jesse. "However, I concede that my preliminary plans did not incorporate a realistic assessment of everyone's summer schedules, and neglecting one's responsibilities is not something I condone."
She flipped open to one of her other charts, this one marked with several shades of highlighter. "However, I believe all of you are making assumptions that would have been reasonable at the beginning of the year but now cast aspersions on my character. For example, I had hoped that our Cheerio members as well as Mike and Matt would help us redress our significant weakness in the area of dance. I am of course one of our most talented vocalists, but there are other dancers who are as good as me." Rachel took a deep breath. She'd practiced saying the following in the mirror, but it was still hard to admit: "If not better than me."
