Lucky disagrees with that. He doesn't thinks he's good at making everything worse at all. They make bad decisions sometimes, and Lucky's there. Lucky has been there. He's made so many bad decisions in his past and hurt so many people because of those choices, because he acted on what he felt first. It's not- it doesn't mean she ruins it or has made them worse at all. There's nothing she could do that would- that would ever do that.
He keeps her gaze too, and there's a lot there in his expression. It's not only the anger at all, but the anger is there too, because- because he's scared, because of what- what nearly happened. He's worried, and he's scared, and he's angry because of how- Lucky swallows thickly again as he looks down, as he's the one to look down as she speaks.
It's true, of course. Everything she's saying is exactly why he was so angry, and it's more than that too. It is. It's more than that, but that is the very crux of it all, and he nods as he looks back up at her, shaking his head. "You almost did die, Lena," he says, and he's erased the distance between them. His hand drifts over the bandage before his hand falls back down again, and he shakes his head, taking a few steps back as he wrestles with it, with the words, with trying to- "You almost died. You would have died, Lena. If it wasn't luck that I ended up there, you would have been dead, and for what? For some junkie who only cares about where she's going to get her next fix from? That's all she cares about."
The loathing in his voice at Gina is impossible to miss. He knows. Lucky knows because he's been there, because he was that junkie once upon a time. It was him who nearly got people killed because of his choices, because that's all that mattered. Nothing else. Normally he would have sympathy, but when- when drugs nearly cost him her- nearly cost him her when he hasn't even touched them?
It's- His chest is on fire with it as he shakes his head, can feel his own eyes burning, because it was terrifying in a way he can't put to words. Lucky shakes his head as he finds his breathing is shaky and he- "I know. I know why you'd help her." It was conditioning. It was- it was knowing that she could have been there if not for Sonny. It was- it was a lot of things. "I just- I can't-"
He can't lose her that way. He can't lose her at all. "Why didn't you tell anyone?"
