Who: Mairi Macmillan and Fleur Delacour When: Saturday, January 4 - afternoon tea Where: The Scottish Palace, the Queen's private salon Summary: Tea and sympathy between a former queen and a future queen. Rating: Completely safe Status: Closed, ongoing Although her heart still ached for the loss of her husband, Mairi knew there was still work to do. So many dignitaries had come to pay their respects, and though she could not accommodate them all, she wished to do her best to meet as many as she could, if only for a private word and reassurance that their presence in Scotland was appreciated. She was, above all else, a Queen, and as such had duties and responsibilities that would not wait for a proper mourning.
She paused to sniff at a vase of white lilies - a product of her own greenhouses - on her way to the sofa where she planned on meeting her guest. As she settled onto her seat, one of the guards entered to announce her visitor's arrival. She thanked him and folded her hands primly in her lap. She had been looking forward to meeting Princess Fleur, and hoped she was as pleasant a young woman as Mairi had heard spoken from the servants and guards.
