Late Sunday evening Mr Question struck yet again. This time, it was the estranged sister to our beloved Queen Consort. While news of the attack has been kept extremely quiet, sources within St Mungo's have confirmed her identity. Mrs Tonks, wife of Head Auror, Ted Tonks, regained consciousness on Wednesday, though her family has remained at her side throughout.
Relations Restored with France
After the attack on the Princess Fleur of France in early November, relations with England's closest ally had been strained. However, recently, the Princess Gabrielle of France has returned to the English Court as a private and personal visitor to Her Royal Highness the Princess Consort of Wales. In addition, as an apparent gesture of good will in this most holy season, His Majesty King Lucius has extradited Audry Kirke to France for justice.
The Independent Quidditch League of Ireland Denounces WQL
As the beginning of the quidditch season approaches quickly, Ireland has become the first country to announce that none of its teams will be disbanding in accordance of the new rules. While spokesmen for the WQL insist this will not have any bearing on the league at large, there are rumours that such an action can only encourage other teams to ignore WQL mandates.
Ministry Toy Drive Deemed Success
Early this morning, thousands of parents found themselves waking to the shouts of delighted children, among these the Miller family of London. The Millers are just one of many families who gave to this year's Ministry of Magic Children's Toy Drive. Originally thought to be cancelled by Interim Minister Fogg, the event was reinstated at the last minute by Minister Moon who found the necessary funding.
This is the twenty-seventh year the Ministry has put on their toy drive, and despite the late notification - which normally takes place in early November (this year occurring four weeks before Christmas), contributions were double what they were last year. Donations from the Ministry Toy Drive go to the Children's Pediatric Ward of St. Mungo's Hospital and it was there that early this morning nurses and mediwizards reported the sounds of playing children, something that has not been heard in the last few days with the unexplained absense of Mediwitch Andromeda Tonks, head of the ward. (see Question Page 3).
"The unfortunate reality is that many of our patients see their parents very rarely," Deputy Ward Director Harmon Beechman told the Prophet, "that they look forward to the Holls nearly the whole year round. If the drive hadn't happened, I don't know what we would have told the children. Even with everything we do here, the truth is that medicine works best with hope and a bright outlook on the world. We want to thank everyone who contributed to the childrens' holiday. As always, we are floored by and grateful for the generosity of the public." St. Mungo's will be taking toy donations until 7 January.
