Meet the NPCs!

Hi everyone! Emily here. I've got a few important things to call to your attention. There will be more mod posts coming shortly, but we didn't want to overload you too much.
1. My notifs aren't working. Fail. If I owe you anything, give me a poke.
2. We have a few shiny new people up on the premade list, and some of them don't necessarily require picking up a new character to fill. Check it out!
3. Let's all do the newbies a favor and run the friend button with all our characters! New people, be ye warned: since we've been getting new characters every couple of days, a new character that puts up a journal entry right away might not get a lot of comments on that post. It's not that we don't love you, it's just that some of us might not have all the journals friended yet.
4. In the same vein, a note about friendslocking. You are totally allowed to friendlock your posts, but do so at your own risk! Besides the friend button issue, I can't link f-locked posts to the time line, so if you're going to thread something really super important please keep it unlocked, as it'll save me the extra step of having to ask you to unlock it later.
5. Everyone please remember to tag your posts! It makes our jobs as mods so much easier and helps us with things like the timeline, the quote post, and sweeps. It also helps us track our activity level from month to month, so please remember to tag your posts the month the thread was posted not the month thread takes place. That means a thread backdated to December but posted in January would still be tagged as January 2011.
6. Now for the biggest part of this post. As some of you may have noticed, three NPCs have been placed on the character pages. Those of you who've been in the game long enough will recognize all of them: Clark Enders (the mayor and Seth's dad) who's controlled by Alissa and who just announced the dance is one of them. The other two are Laura Jones and Eli Winters, both of whom were, once upon a time, full characters of mine that have been downgraded. For a few months they've just been sitting there, but now that we have an antagonist in the works, it's time that they start making some connections with characters. These NPCs are not like all of your characters because they exist solely for the sake of your characters' development. Therefore, any player is allowed to ping me and request a thread with one of the NPCs. They can be helpful with power discovery, advice, whatever (Eli is good for this, since he knows about the Project but he hates it, so he's all for giving out subtle hints about what's going on) as long as you run it by me first and as long as it'll give your character some development. Eli might also make some private-to-everyone-but-himself posts when it gets closer to NPC killin' time. If you have an idea, don't hesitate to ping me at ofnumberlessdreams@gmail.com.
7. Finally, we wanted to give everyone the heads up that we're fully intending to do another batch of Genome Project Awards in the next month, so everyone start brainstorming categories! We'll probably reuse some of the same ones as last time but it'll be great to have new categories. The more we have, the more characters can get spiffy little banners! (And don't worry newbies, we will do our very best to include everyone.)
