I've been keeping busy, had my hours reduced at the hotel so I've been picking up odd jobs to keep up with my bills. One of my co-workers had been pestering me to help her out with a project since she started working here, and I finally caved and let her shoot me (photography major, go fig). I don't know if it was the time of day we scheduled to meet up or what, but we really felt like we were wandering the hallways in one of those spooky horror movies. We could hear someone knocking around,
somewhere, but they were nowhere close to where we were working.
I was hot. Not wolf-whistle hot, but literally, hot. Her project was on lighting, shadows and highlighting contrasts, so she wanted me in all-black outfits, right down to my nails. We kept the make-up natural since I was already melting. The whole thing felt like forever, on her part aiming for the right angle, light, etc. before each frame and me taking too many shots where it looks like I'm trying not to look like I'm trying not to blink, move, etc. Before I relaxed, she said most of my expressions were a mix between a deer in headlights and a grimace. She wouldn't let me preview the shots, was completely silent on how I did at the end beyond 'good'. From the way she was acting I thought they were horrible and she didn't have the heart to tell me. I got my copies today and they turned out better than I expected! The picture that I think captured what she was going for is the one where the camera is to my back. But sadly, this photo set was made for her portfolio and part of the deal was that these weren't going to be posted or reprinted anywhere else, save for the back picture because, well, it's a picture of someone's back.
( Warning: Nothing to see here... )That aside, anyone know of jobs looking to hire part-timers?
