Early Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all! I've been spending the past two days baking treats. I've got my outfit ready and finally got around to my nails. My gifts are all wrapped up and ready to be delivered. Friends, let me know which day you want me to drop them by, if I'm not already planning on seeing you over Christmas anyway. If I haven't met you yet, you can always drop by the Chelsea hotel in Midtown or On The Rocks this week for candy canes.

Christmas in New York is going to be exciting. I love the lights, the music that starts up playing after Thanksgiving, chic winter outfits, Secret Santas and the shopping! There's a story behind the photo, but it's boring. I love getting in the spirit wherever I go, I've been told I'm an excellent gift giver. I wish I had room to cook a huge Christmas dinner and invite everyone I know. But my apartment is a studio, so I'd probably need a bigger kitchen for that. But! I am going to string lights all around it, just to keep the dank and dreary out of it. What's on your holiday wishlist?

I've been keeping busy, had my hours reduced at the hotel so I've been picking up odd jobs to keep up with my bills. One of my co-workers had been pestering me to help her out with a project since she started working here, and I finally caved and let her shoot me (photography major, go fig). I don't know if it was the time of day we scheduled to meet up or what, but we really felt like we were wandering the hallways in one of those spooky horror movies. We could hear someone knocking around, somewhere, but they were nowhere close to where we were working.

I was hot. Not wolf-whistle hot, but literally, hot. Her project was on lighting, shadows and highlighting contrasts, so she wanted me in all-black outfits, right down to my nails. We kept the make-up natural since I was already melting. The whole thing felt like forever, on her part aiming for the right angle, light, etc. before each frame and me taking too many shots where it looks like I'm trying not to look like I'm trying not to blink, move, etc. Before I relaxed, she said most of my expressions were a mix between a deer in headlights and a grimace. She wouldn't let me preview the shots, was completely silent on how I did at the end beyond 'good'. From the way she was acting I thought they were horrible and she didn't have the heart to tell me. I got my copies today and they turned out better than I expected! The picture that I think captured what she was going for is the one where the camera is to my back. But sadly, this photo set was made for her portfolio and part of the deal was that these weren't going to be posted or reprinted anywhere else, save for the back picture because, well, it's a picture of someone's back.

Warning: Nothing to see here... )

That aside, anyone know of jobs looking to hire part-timers?

Boredom~! I did too much yesterday so I don't want to do nothing. So I'll update. Bubby took me out for a mocha frappe and then to The Face Shop to see the Innisfree display they put up. I look amazing, right?

Cutty cut cut )

Next week I have a shoot for some electronic something. It's either another tv or a stereo thing. Or is it the diet yogurt endorsement again? Bubby, help? I can't remember, he remembers that stuff for me. Poo. I bet they're going to put me in knee-high boots and shorts so short they might as well keep it pantsless. At least the yogurt people let me keep the dress. What was there their name again? I bet Bub thinks I call him that because I can't remember anything. I know it, but Bubby should kinda like his nickname by now, except when he's annoyed with me. Then he makes this flat look until I pout just so to make it all better. That happens all the time, but somehow he still loves me. Who is Bubby? He's my buddy, baby, and lovey, all rolled into one handsome guy. He's really hot. One day my Bubby will be my Hubby, but planning weddings is like a job neither of us want to do. Can't we just show up to the church one day and everything already be perfect? I think the planner hates me, I've changed my dresses so many times. I don't see why it matters, he's getting paid by the hour anyway. I can't stand him, he's so pushy. At this point I think Bub will get his way and we can fly off to Vegas one night and then have the mega wedding later. Daddy's paying for it, so I think we don't have any choice but to have one.

I have voice and movement on Monday, sigh. I'd rather just stay home and fight Alduin, Bub learned how to exploit one of the Daedric Items to max out all of my dark elf's skills to 100. Running around Skyrim is so much fun now!

Ah~! It's finally slowed down. I'm one of those unlucky few that gets to dread the weekends, they're always the busiest days to work, especially Friday and Saturday. Then again, the busier it is, the faster the shift passes. I've got the graveyard shift tomorrow, so that leaves my day wide open. I'm thinking about heading over to Carnegie Johns for some street meat, then get some window shopping in. As much as I could go for a new outfit, I really need to save up for a new place. Is anyone looking for a roommate? I've got a full-time job, pay rent on time, I'm a social drinker and I don't smoke. I'm also pet-less, I'm not too loud and I don't have any allergies.

Speaking of things I wish I could buy )

I'm also in need of something to do for the next...two hours. Give me your birthday and I'll internet-magic interesting facts about you.

Disclaimer: (imagine it's being said super-fast, as in those pharma-corp commercials) It will all be auto-generated and may not be even remotely close to describing you. However, leaving your birthday will give me and everyone reading opportunity to pretend that it does. Miss Miller is completely 100% not responsible for any annoyances that might cause.
