Who: Katie, Mao What: walking home from school When: Saturday after Volleyball practice (around 6pm) Where: school/road Rated: TBD
Katie slung her gym bag over her shoulder and pushed the doors open. It was a lot colder than she remembered it being earlier. She pulled her jacket tighter around her and squinted against the street lights. It was dark already. She frowned. She knew she should probably call her brother to pick her up, or at least walk her home. But she decided against it. Katie was a big girl and could manage a few blocks alone.
She started on her way, immediately regretting her decision. Everything was creepier at night. Even as she passed the beach-- a place where no one could hide-- she was timid. It only got worse when she heard some footsteps coming up behind her. Her pace quickened instantly and she shifted her bag onto her other shoulder nervously. After several feet, Katie courageously glanced backward. She exhaled, relieved. She knew that face.
