"Um. Yeah, sure." It wasn't as if Luke had had much of a choice in the matter anyway, but if Chris wanted to pretend he did, then fine. To be fair, though, Luke really had seriously considered keeping his appointment, but when the time rolled around, he just didn't feel up for it. He still didn't, really, but he knew his parents (and probably every other adult in town, if Jane's journal was any indication) would be hounding him endlessly if he didn't at least show up. Not that it would do any good. Luke fidgeted, playing with the corner of the pillow on the couch he'd sat on.
"So um. What do I do exactly?" He did his best to not make eye contact with Chris and glanced, instead, up at the clock. It was a stupid question, really. He knew he was supposed to talk. He just didn't want to.
