It was hard enough for her to understand how condolences worked. No one she had ever known had died. Both of her grandparents were still alive, even. Her life was pretty sheltered, considering she'd been on her own for almost 20 years.
"And she was my age?" She blew her bangs out of her face again and considered Noah. He looked old. Definitely older than her, but maybe not by much. Of course, he didn't really know how old she was. Surely, she didn't look 37, and she wasn't about to divulge why. She didn't know Noah from a hole in the wall, even if he was being pretty open about his dead girlfriend.
