"What kind of projects do you do?" Sumi asked. Projects could really mean anything after all. For Sumi, it usually meant a school project, but something told her that Hiro probably meant something else. "Are you an art student or something?" She hadn't seen her at NYU or anything, but with all the good schools in New York, that really didn't mean anything. Since this party was for a high school student, it was also likely she was in high school too. Technically, Sumi would be in high school as well if she hadn't skipped a grade a while ago.
Sumi shook her head as she began to walk away, still holding one of Hiro's hands. "I came alone tonight," she told the girl, "You?" Sumi played it cool, but she was anxious for Hiro's answer. Hiro was cute, and even if they merely hung out for tonight, it was nice to be able to flirt with someone who would reciprocate.
