sorry this took so long
He had ran out of alcohol about an hour ago. So knowing that the stores would most likely be closed now or out of booze he decided to be one of the masses and go to a bar. Sure he knew he'd miss the fireworks, a fact that he was somewhat grateful for. When he was a kid he loved fireworks, he could hardly wait for the Fourth and New Years to see them, light some of the up himself. However, ever since that day...the explosion...the statue falling. Fireworks just brought up bad memories and tonight he didn't need anything else bringing him down.
Adrian was doing a bit better. He got updates from Trina when she would pop in literally on him. She said it was to make sure he hadn't curled completely into himself. He suspected Dr. Clarke had been the one to send her but neither of them chose to bring it up. He did want to go see Adrian, make sure that he really was alive, that he was still there. But he couldn't. Even if he was fine and cracking jokes the guilt would eat away at him. He was there in that hospital bed because of him. It was his fault. So he had been brooding and drinking for the past few weeks, which is why the booze ran out so quickly.
Since he knew he would be drinking a great deal of alcohol and he might want to show off his powers he thought it best to go to On The Rocks. Sure no one said it was a mutant friendly bar but he thought it better to go there and maybe come out of the mutant closet there than at some other overly crowded bar. Also in the back of his mind he knew that Dawn worked there and although she and Tommy fizzled they stayed friends. So he knew if he started to do something really dumb she'd come to his aid. He snorted at the thought of tiny little Dawn dragging his unconscious body home.
Once he arrived there he was pleasantly surprised that not many people were there...oh...right...most people didn't have a crushing horrible memory that ruined fireworks for them forever. Caleb made his way to the bar and sat down and ordered a weissbier...his beer of choice. He had barely noticed the woman next to him until she spoke. Ordering the Sangria...what a girl drink. But...she was a girl so...that would make sense. He glanced over and was stunned at what a knock out she was. What the hell was she doing here tonight...alone by the looks of it. A part of Caleb was breaking free of broody Caleb that had been encompassing his thoughts for weeks. It wasn't until he was free that Caleb realized it was the part of Caleb that hadn't gotten laid since that one random time in the hallway of Hellfire. The part of Caleb that wanted a break from his right hand. However, the smooth, charming part of Caleb was still buried. Apparently horny Caleb had pulled out awkward Caleb out along with him.
