Jaden's heart stopped momentarily when Eden kissed his cheek. It had never escaped him that she was a very cute girl. He knew the kiss didn't mean anything more than thanks, but still, he didn't receive kisses for any reason from cute girls often. Once his heart began beating again, he felt very warm around his face as it turned a light shade of red. He smiled sheepishly. "Itwasnothing," he told her, not realizing he had begun his chipmunk speech pattern. "Ijusttalkedtomymomandwefoundarecipeinoneofherbooks." This second time, he realized he was doing it. He took a large gulp of his drink. His face turning even redder now, he tried to speak again. "I found a recipe in one of my mom's books," he told her, happy he was able to slow himself down.
He forced himself to smile and nod. "Yeah," he managed to force himself to say, "I wasn't expecting it to get like this." He took another gulp of the drink. He noticed it tasted a little strange, but it wasn't bad enough to get him to stop drinking it. It was likely that alcohol wouldn't effect him much if he drank it slowly due to his increased metabolism, but since he was drinking a bit fast, his increased metabolism was actually causing him to become light headed. "Who are all these people anyways?"
