Rielle McKenzie ([info]justlikeflying) wrote in [info]genome_project,
"If anyone's noticed, they haven't said anything." It was highly unlikely that Aaron was the first one to notice. But her parents were important enough that maybe the teachers knew better? Or maybe her mom had called the school that morning and gave them a heads up. Either way, although actual classes hadn't really started yet, none of the teachers had stopped her and forced her to remove them.

"The alternative is not pretty." She bit her lip, and debated internally for a moment if she wanted to let her own guard down and show him. He'd probably never let her live it down. It'd happened on the subway, after all, where she'd been trying to stick it to him. Whatever. What was the worst thing he could say that she already didn't think herself? With a gentle hand, she lifted the sunglasses and planted them on the top of her head. Her eye was almost but not quite swollen shut, and it was a nasty purple shade.

"Tada."
