She almost jumped when she realized she wasn't alone. Megan hadn't expected to be interrupted on her excursion. She'd thought everyone had been accounted for when she crept off, but apparently she'd missed someone. And a strange someone to miss, considering Scout was the only other person she knew ahead of time at this gathering, but there you have it. The plan hadn't necessarily been 'be sneaky', it had really been, 'get out of everyone's way before they ask you another question'. She'd always hated meeting parents. Most of her pre-Ian boyfriends didn't have much of a family to introduce her to, or just... Didn't. Which was fine by her. Honestly, after a year of not meeting his family, she'd thought the same was true of Ian. But no one had been quite as secretive about their family as Ian either. Which made her curiosity itch.
But curiosity killed the cat.
And here she was now, with a choice. She could politely decline and move on (bah!) or... "Yes. Please. I need a drink." Families. She didn't like her own, what made her think someone else would have one that made her feel comfortable either? She crossed the room to take a seat in the desk chair. "I guess this is your room?"
