Elliot hadn't been managing all that well over the past few days. Things had been getting worse and worse. She was actually supposed to be at work, but she called in today. She just couldn't do it today. She almost set the store on fire yesterday, and today she could swear someone kept calling her name. A few times her phone had rung, but there was never anyone there. She had looked online and found a bunch of other things she was going to be going through also. Then there was the whole fact that, she had gone online and found symptoms. She now couldn't tell what might just be an imaginary symptom from reading things, and what might be real. Seeing as figuring out what was real had already become a problem, things just really weren't looking good.
She wished she was back in her room listening to her Avril Lavigne playlist, but it was the fact that she had nearly lost total control that caused her to think of J.J. The school had reluctantly assigned him as her mentor or something. He may have been a little odd, but honestly, that was what caused Elliot to like him. If he were some by the book guy, she would likely not tell him many of her problems, outside power control. She stopped outside the store to check her reflection. She regretted this immediately. She looked like shit. Usually she prided herself on her style, but, "It looks like you got dressed in your sleep." She stared blankly at the reflection. Had it just talked to her? She shook her head. No. Reflections can't speak. She fiddled with herself for a moment, doing what she could to not look like some kind of junkie. Even if she felt that's what she was. She then entered the shop.
Her stomach groaned a bit reminding her that she hadn't eaten. The metallic taste just wouldn't go away. Every time she tried to eat, she felt like vomiting. Why was she so screwed up? She looked around a little, trying to ignore the eyes on some of the artwork that just stared at her. It was all in her head. It was all in her screwed up head. She tried to act as casual as she could, but how was she to know how well it was working. She was still hearing a text message alert on her phone. She didn't even bother checking it this time, just assuming it was in her head. She waved to get J.J.'s attention. "Hey," she said, "Can I hang out for a bit?" She wasn't about to actually ask for help. She didn't do that too often. Plus, she didn't want it to seem like the only reason she was there was because she needed help.
