Elliot didn't like skipping a day of work. It meant less money for her, and since all the money her mom made went to paying for a roof over their heads, she needed the money from work for food and fire retardant material. She did appreciate his complete understanding of why she had to skip out today. It was one of the other reasons she went to him rather than anyone else. Her brother would have suggested another go of living with him so she wouldn't have to be concerned about money as much, and her mother was not really someone she went to for anything. "Especially with the crazy Christmas shoppers fighting over things they want to get for their spoiled children," she eyed him suspiciously, "You aren't one of those, right?"
The mention of food caused her stomach to both groan in hunger and lurch with the memory of the taste she still had in her mouth, but she nodded. She did need to try. She didn't want to look like she was anorexic or anything. She felt a bit self conscious of hat already. She was pretty sure that she had already lost a few pounds, and she was fairly sure she wasn't fat. That meant that she was probably getting to an unhealthy point. She nodded to the question, "That sounds like a good idea."
