Mao could actually feel the bench style seat he was in thrum from Jaden's shaking. It was almost like being in one of those massage chairs in the mall you had to pay a dollar for. Mao was grateful for the distraction, he gave Jaden an amused look that turned into an all out grin when the other boy started speed talking. "Jeez, man. Chill. You're gonna break something." He would have laughed, but at that exact moment his eyes met Rolan's and it died in his throat.
"Yeah... Thanks for the pizza." The Asian boy's expression was briefly pained. This was the most awkward thing he had ever been a part of. He reached for a slice of pizza and quickly stuffed the pointy end into his mouth as if he could get the taste of 'This is the worst idea EVER' off of his tongue. As he chewed, his eyes shifted from Rolan to Jaden and back again, as if he were playing tennis. He blanched. Rolan wasn't going to sing? Jaden was practically a tuning fork at the moment, Mao couldn't imagine what any singing attempts by him would sound like. So, that left him. Which sucked because Mao wasn't exactly in the mood to be belting out hair band hits from the 80s.
When asked for preferences Mao's mind went blank. He had a terrible urge to say something snarky, like, 'Not country.' but he had semi promised Ariel that he'd behave. Letting out an exasperated sigh, Mao slumped in his seat, full on sulking. "Fuck. Why are we sober for this?" He should have had the presence of mind to sneak in some booze. How the hell were they going to survive being stuck in this tiny room together with only soda and pizza?
