Rielle hadn't been there long. One of her friends was dating Mitch, and had texted her to come and pick her up. Being the good great friend that she was, she'd gotten in her car and driven right over. Sure, her friend would hear about it for days, but it still felt nice to do a good deed.
She hadn't even bothered to get dolled up. She didn't really expect to stay long. It was one of those get in, get out type jobs. She didn't even want to go inside, but after idling in the driveway for what seemed like hours with no response from the many text messages that she'd sent declaring she was outside, Rielle got impatient. She'd marched her way up to the front door, ushered herself into the hot, cramped foyer, and looked around. Her friend, unfortunately, was no where to be seen. No. Where.
She sent one last text, stating that if her friend wanted a ride home, she'd better be downstairs in less than a half hour, or she was leaving alone. Annoyed, she made the snap decision to try and enjoy herself while she was there, and grabbed a can of soda on her way to scope out someone to talk to. Most people were disgustingly drunk. Or on some kind of drug. Normally, Ri wouldn't have had a problem trying to engage in conversation with someone drunk, if she was on their level. But she just wasn't sure she had the patience. Instead, she sniped out the wallflowers-- the people who were probably too afraid to drink, but who didn't want to miss out on experiencing a popular kids party.
That's when her eyes landed on Jaden. She made a beeline toward him and offered a smile. "I've seen you before, but you're new, right?" She popped the top on her Coke and took a sip.
