"Are you crazy!?" Mao balked at Jaden's plan to keep the zombies at bay himself. He knew the other boy wasn't as good as close quarters combat as he was, there was no room to build up the speed he needed. He stood, frozen with indecision as he stared at his friend. He didn't want to go, but there was no time to argue. With a grimace of defeat, Mao quickly turned and dashed into the back of the pharmacy, calling out, "Don't get yourself killed..!"
In his rush, the normally agile Mao crashed into several chairs and almost tripped over a small waste bin. It had been so long since the outbreak that all backup generators had burned themselves out, there were no glowing exit signs to lead him to freedom. But as he stumbled in the dark, he did see a light. The faintly bluish tint of daylight peeking through a square shaped crack. When he got closer, Mao realized what he was looking at, the pharmacy's drive through window. A panel had been placed over it to indicate that the service was closed, and that what was blocking the light. Mao yanked it away and began to claw at the window until he found the lever to unlock it. He pulled it open, but it didn't open very much, it wasn't like a fast food drive through. It was enough for him to get out, but would it be big enough for Jaden?
"Hey! Jaden! I think I found a way out!" He called out to the other boy and waved his arms. It'd be easier to see him now that the window had been uncovered and the outside light streamed in.
