Mao couldn't help but feel a tiny bit jealous that Jaden was able to always be on the frontlines. It took a bit of the fun out of things when he already knew what was ahead of him. Still, this was the safest way of going about supply runs. He couldn't let his hunger for excitement overshadow the need to, you know, stay alive. Jaden being around was probably the only reason Mao was still alive, otherwise he'd have likely done something stupid by now and gotten himself eaten.
"Sounds good to me." Mao gave his friend a thumbs up with one hand while his other began to twirl his staff like a cheerleader's baton. He gazed, steely eyed down the street where they would be heading, prepping himself mentally for possible battle. That is, until Jaden made that amusing verbal slip. Mao laughed teasingly, "You'll be wearing a costume before we know it!" With that, Mao swung his staff to whack the other boy on the backside to get him going.
