Ariel had glanced from Eden to the new kid as the keyboardist stepped up and placed a hand on his shoulder. His eyes then shot to Jack and he raised a perfectly groomed eyebrow. While he and Toby sat around, singing and playing scales, the guitarist and keyboardist tended to exchange words about what they should play, etc. Jack was laid back, happy to let others chime in, so nothing ever escalated to a head, but it certainly wouldn't surprise Ariel if it ever did. For now he said nothing, ignoring the tension, and watching curiously as the new kid stalked to the drumset.
He started grinning. It took only a second or two for him to recognize the tune being beat out by the kid, who, truth be told, had appeared a little more than bewildered upon seating himself. Appropriate choice, he thought. The kid could bang the drums, that was for sure. Ariel laughed - giggling behind his hand as Toby sassed Eden and as the drummer seemed genuinely surprised at the volume of the instrument he was, ostensibly, well-practiced in playing.
Ariel stood at the side with a hand over his mouth, looking very amused when the boy with the mohawk turned on them with a 100 watt smile.
"Uh, we'll get back with you," replied Mr. Bowtie in his best semi-apologetic, barely holding-back-a-laugh voice. (He was kidding, obviously. It was obvious - right?)
