Toby had been keeping his mouth shut. Despite the fact that he'd been part of the band in some form since it's inception, he had only actually been an official member since... What? A couple weeks now? He'd played with them before that, sure, and even gave a sad performance as a singer (though Sarah kept insisting he was adorable) but being something of a newbie himself, he wasn't about to offer up anything until he'd heard Mao play. He knew Jack--the whole reason the band existed in the first place and his best friend--valued his input, but he didn't feel he'd quite earned that place yet. Instead, he had been sitting on an amp, thoughtfully tuning his bass while everyone else had at this kid. He couldn't shake the feeling that he might have met him before, but for the life of him, he couldn't remember where.
Not that this was unusual. There was a fuzzy spot in his memory some where, so he was used to not remembering some time around second or third grade. He sort of shook off the idea that this kid was familiar and just at back and listened. The Halloween theme. Nice. One of those movie's he'd totally only watched at Jack's house, but he was familiar enough with it to catch on. Once it was finished he nodded to Eden, "Guess that answers the question of whether or not he can play, huh?" It was a little snarky, but obviously, Eden had given this guy a hard time for nothing.
