He paused by the coat closet for a moment of reflection. Things weren't exactly going his way tonight, but he was still ending up pretty lucky. He had to suck up his bitterness and project it on Mia another night. The last thing he wanted the twins to remember about their father was that he was a dick. No, he wanted them to have happy memories of their family, even if it was nontraditional.
Making up his mind to at least be cordial, Tino pulled his jacket on. On his way back to everybody, he grabbed a hat and tugged it over his scraggly mess of hair. "Alright, I'm ready. You boys lead the way!" He shoved his hands in his pockets, ushered everybody outside and shut the door behind them. When Ben and Gino were far enough ahead, he turned to his ex.
"You know, you should consider yourself lucky. If I wanted to, I could make you stay with me forever." It wasn't a threat, just a piece of information that he said with a smile.
