Who: Caleb & Scout (and maybe Boo later on)
What: Annual GUARDIAN testing of Caleb's powers
When: September 29th, afternoon
Where: Underground GUARDIAN testing facility.
Rating: Medium/High (language and minor violence)

Although Caleb would always grumble that he had already been on countless missions he didn't see why they felt the need to test him now, he actually was looking forward to it. That was something they almost did every other week when he was back in Hellfire and if that is what the enemy was doing having an annual testing of his powers was the least they could do. At first he thought he'd just go to the testing room and they'd throw fire at him, try to drown him, throw knives...shit like that. But apparently Adrian told him they were bringing in a shapeshifter, that was new. As far as they knew Hellfire didn't have a shapeshifter but they were always working to get new recruits. Also the women in Hellfire weren't exactly deciding to stop procreating, the more babies the more possibilities of new powers. So they decided getting their recruits trained with a shapeshifter would prepare them just in case.

Caleb was a little wary, who was this kid? Weren't they a top secret branch of the FBI, totally hush hush. So much that he couldn't even tell him family the full extent of what he did. He wanted to but he knew that if someone it slipped he'd land himself back in jail. But honestly they were bringing some random kid in to test his powers, how were they going to make sure he kept quiet. Were they going to erase his memories or what. He thought they tended to not like to do that unless someone got removed from the program. He chuckled and wondered if the machine they used was anything like the Neuralyzer from the Men in Black movies. He knew it probably wasn't probably some mutant that had the same power as Enders does.

Caleb stretch his arms across his chest and worked out the kinks in his neck and back. He was looking forward to working out his frustrations with a living breathing thing. Honestly what the hell, was that guy here to torment. First he's dating his baby sister (ultimate Caleb hatred 101), then he's the instructor or the yoga class he is forced to take, and also that hot blonde in the bar he was having a grand old time chatting with ended up being his sister...his twin sister. Apparently his assumption that his twin sister would be like him in drag was WAY off base. Seriously what the fuck universe! But whatever, he continued stretching all his muscles out as the doors across the room opened.

Scout had been missing from New York for a good chunk of time. He'd left his phone behind and, because of that, wasn't entirely sure anyone had noticed his absence, but, either way, he didn't particularly care. The whole secret government agency thing took much of his time and attention. They'd approached him after he was taken into police custody a month or so ago, laden with all manner of illegal substances and contraband. And men in shades - yes, seriously - had offered him a deal. If he helped them out, they would help him.

He agreed.

And now here he was, being ushered down some nondescript hallway in a building he didn't know in a city he didn't know. It was like a fucking movie. Scout took off his sunglasses as he was led to a set of closed doors and left there. He looked over his shoulder at the receding figures of his chaperones, then back at the gray doors. He blinked at them, then reached for the handle.

They opened to reveal a long, large room, empty save for a man at the other end, stretching. It looked like a place where people were tortured. Scout narrowed his eyes on the man and smirked.

"So, what are you going to do to me?" He asked as he crossed the floor, tucking his sunglasses into his shirt collar. He stopped short of the other man and crossed his arms over his chest, expression expectant.

Caleb froze mid-stretch as the man entered. No...fucking...way. That could not be who he thought it was. As he got closer he saw that it wasn't but fuck if he didn't look a hell of a lot like that asshole that he would love to be fighting right now. Was that why they chose him? They knew that he wouldn't have a problem kicking this guys ass since he resembled...Bradley. He let his arm fall,

"Well, it's actually what you are going to do to me. You have to try to kill me and I mean for real. Try to kill me. Use your power to try to kill me. And they'll see how well and quickly I adapt to survive. Any questions before we start?"

Scout looked the man up and down in silence for nearly a full minute. So he was supposed to just go at the lone man, hm? There had to be some kind of catch. And it wasn't as if Scout actually wanted to kill anyone. That would be one hell of thing to live with. Unaware of the other man's thoughts - about Boo, about him - he quirked an eyebrow, and with his arms still crossed, he asked:

"First tell me: what's your power?"

Though man might have known Boo, Scout had no idea who the person in front of him was, besides an obvious psycho. He smirked.

Caleb hadn't had a good long stare down for a while. Back in Hellfire they'd test your abilities whenever the heck they felt like doing it...there wasn't a build up where they sized each other up beforehand. Also when he faced off against this guy's doppelganger it was all rage I can take down everyone thing. The guy wasn't a waify thing so he wouldn't have to hold back when he went on the offense. Sure he knew most of the testing was his defensive aspect since that is what his power was basically. The offensive skills had nothing to do with genetics.

"Adaptation," he smirked, "Basically whatever you throw at me my body will change somehow to leave me unharmed...or at least less harmed than I would be. I already know your power, I was briefed. Anything else you want to know?" Caleb had a few questions of his own but they weren't really relevant to their fight...it was more him wanting to know if he had a brother...a douchebag brother who had a smoking hot twin sister and who was currently dating his sweet, innocent, too nice for her own good, baby sister.

He cracked his neck, "Just to let you know I will go on the offensive at times and I won't hold back...just want you to know that this fight isn't going to be just you attacking me and me defending myself. I won't kill you but...I won't go easy on you."

Adaptation. Of course. Scout didn't know what the limits of such a power were, but he figured there musn't be many of them or why would they tell him to let loose on some man in a large, otherwise unoccupied room? That was kind of a relief, anyway. Obviously, they didn't expect him to kill anyone. He was just supposed to... give the guy a run for his money, apparently.

Scout watched, his face blank, as the man before him cracked his neck and promised not to go easy on him. He rolled his eyes. Scary stuff.

"I'm not sure adapting will help you offensively."

Sure the room was unoccupied but he knew the lab geeks were watching the whole thing from the control room and had safety protocols ready to go if Scout ended up getting close to succeeding in his mission to kill him. But Caleb wasn't worried, he'd faced plenty of Hellfire lackeys who were bigger than him. He'd be fine.

Caleb chuckled at his comment, "Trust me my offensive skills have nothing to do with my power," he paused, "Hellfire trained me well. Mixed martial arts is my specialty."
