Nora had never felt such a strong, uncontrollable urge to cry. Not when she got married. Not when she found out she couldn't have children. Not when her youngest daughter went into labor. No. Nora had been able to control her emotions then. This? This was an entirely different thing. Perhaps it was the fact that he was a boy or that he was of her own flesh and blood, but he could really just get under her skin sometimes! She couldn't recall Lucy or Kaylee ever giving her such a hard time with homework or school. Somehow, Lucas seemed to get the worst of hers and Dean's genes.
"Math is stupid."
Nora sighed and again flashed a multiplication table flash card at him. "Four times six is?" Lucas just rolled his eyes and twirled around a transformer toy in his hands. "Lucas. Honey. Focus. Please. Four times six!"
"Twenty-four?"
"YES! Perfect!" Nora flipped another card over at him, and Lucas just upped and walked away.
"LUCAS!"
"Shhhhhhhh." Nora cringed when she remembered she was still at the library and laid her stack of flash cards down on the table. Her head in her hands she wondered what in the hell she had done to deserve such a stubborn little boy.
