It was her day off, yet Dawn found herself focusing on her career. Not that she would call it that, it was more of a lifeline that kept her off of the street. While hired as a hotel desk clerk, her aim was to be promoted to concierge service. With that promotion a membership in Les Clefs d'Or would follow. Having a golden key added to her lapel could guarantee that she could easily find a job where ever she went, and it was a goal she hoped to achieve before she had to move again. The senior concierge at the hotel had taken her on as an unofficial apprentice, and she had taken their advice to heart. It was one thing to book tours or reserve tickets to shows, guests would also want to learn about experiences around the city that could not be easily found in guidebooks. To give opinions that were catered to each guest, it was easier to give recommendations when they were experienced herself.
Since she did not have enough money saved for Broadway tickets or a five star restaurant, comps were saved for the actual concierge staff. Art shows, however, were free. She walked through the gallery with a pamphlet in hand, opting to linger at each installation instead of mingling with the other groups standing around. Dawn took a step back at a particularly large piece, canting her head to the side as she tried to take in the entire piece.
