It had been a tiring day. Saturdays usually were for Scott, for some reason. He tended to avoid the house. All the kids were home on Saturdays and it was loud. Or it used to be anyways. But old habits died hard for the man, so even after Toby, Ayelet and Eli were old enough to behave and be quiet, he still saved his errands for the weekend.
He placed the key in the lock and pushed open the door. Truth be told, he'd forgotten that Sarah was coming over. So stepping in the door and hearing his wife put on her... fake voice, he was surprised. "Honey?" He followed the sounds to the kitchen. Sure enough, Toby, Ari and a blonde girl were standing around awkwardly. Scott knew immediately what was going on.
"You must be Sarah," he said, crossing the small space between them to grasp her hand in both of his. "She's prettier than you told me, Tobes." He let go of her and stepped back towards Ari. "Hey sweetheart." He pressed a kiss to the side of her head. "What'd I miss?"
