Alfie shrugged innocently and picked up his shoes before paying Carl and turning toward the alley to find their lane. "My mother still calls me a hot-blooded teenager," he said as he looked over the ticket and then glanced up to find lane 16. "But I'm her favorite, so I don't really take it personally." And if by chance she was looking below his waist, well, Alfie had made sure to wear his baggier jeans. They weren't falling off his waist or anything, but they provided just enough room for him where needed. He wasn't a braggart, but he was sure he possessed some decently-sized equipment in there.
At least he'd never gotten very many complaints.
"Here we are. Lane Sixteen." He set down his bowling shoes and removed his jacket to reveal a black t-shirt with the DC logo on it. Then, he went about removing his shoes and replacing them with the bowling shoes. "Good thing I got a size higher, or else I would have been like Cinderella's step-sisters in these shoes."
