"Mom left us with Mrs. Sullivan. I wanted to come see you before, but they wouldn't let me." She fake pouted at him. It was fake because she was obviously glad that she was getting the chance to see him now. And she was seeing him alright, all his tubes and things coming out of him. She raised her head a little and glanced at his bandaged wound. She felt her head shake from side to side and then felt the tears coming up so fast she couldn't stop them. Her head was buried in his side again as she sobbed a little.
"I'm sorry, Daddy," she cried. "This is all my fault. If I would have warned you better, if I could have just told you more details, maybe... maybe you wouldn't be here right now." She sniffled and hugged him, probably a little tighter than she should have.
