Abby's brow furrowed a little but then she just shrugged. "I guess we'll have to pick up some dresses and pink onesies then." She was ecstatic that they were having a little baby girl. But she was too tired to really express it and the medication wasn't helping to show how excited Abby truly was.
She nodded at what Carter was saying. "Okay then," her eyes closed but she was still listening to what he was saying. Abby was over the moon when he remembered the kind of ice cream she liked, and she smiled. "Don't forget the sprinkles."
Waiting for Carter, Abby curled up on her side and stuck her arm straight out that was filled with IV lines and tubes galore. When he finally made his way out and into bed with her, she smiled, content in that moment. It was as if they were continuing what she had wanted to do in their apartment all along. She grabbed his hands softly and put them on her baby bump instead of just around her in a hug. Intertwining her one free hand with his on her bump, Abby leaned over and gently kissed Carter on the cheek. "I love you." A few seconds later, and Abby was out.
