Carter tried to shush her not for her own sanity but for his own as well. He didn't want to think about it. The baby and Abby were both going to be fine...they had to be.
Carter paid no mind to the paparazzi other than giving them death glares, his sole focus was Abby. He made his way around the car and lifted her out into his arms then onto the stretcher. He held onto her hand as they rushed her inside. When they pulled her into a room they stopped Carter from following. They had to stabilize her and the baby before he could come in. He'd just be in the way now. He gave Abby a desperate look and mouthed 'I love you.' Before the doors shut.
He ran his hands that had dried blood on them through his hair as he waited to hear what happened. He had Abby's blood on his clothes and people were staring at him as if he had been the victim of a horrible accident. What if the baby was gone. Would he and Abby be able to get through it...he often heard losing a child caused some couples to fall apart. The baby just couldn't be gone...they just couldn't. Soon enough a nurse came in and directed him to Abby's room.
