Cori immediately dropped to her knees and started picking papers and pictures up from the ground. 'Fucking .. Jesus Christ,' she thought to herself as she scrambled to pick everything up. The last thing she wanted was for Johnny to be picking things up for her and looking through all of them. It wasn't a trust issue, but more of a privacy issue. These were her things - mementos, pictures, medals, papers she had struggled to get A's on - it wasn't something she wanted him looking through.
In a matter of minutes, she had managed to grab everything that had fallen out, and had simultaneously paid no attention to what Johnny had said. Everything was stuffed back into her bag, protesting being shoved into her backpack so haphazardly. Cori stood up again and looked down at Johnny who was looking the picture Cori had of her and Lexie.
Without signing anything or making a noise she held out her hand silently to him. Her facial expression was completely blank. Cori knew that if she let her emotions get the better of her, she'd be crying and probably curled up in a ball on the floor in a matter of five minutes tops. So, she opted to go her usual route and appear to be like a stone wall.
