"I have plenty of training with cats though. Haven't you seen the way that Barney knows who is top cat around here?" Not to mention being quite the snake charmer, but that was more subtle (and not intended to be dirty) humor that would just go over all of their heads. Besides he was already trying to figure out how to tame a little duck and all the others into bed though there was one that already seemed to be falling quickly.
"Give Murtagh here and the rest of you start getting ready for bed and I'll be around to say good night and tuck you in if you don't think you're all too old for that." Even since Easter it seemed like they had all just decided to shoot up for fun. Usually they'd try to split the nighttime routine duties of stories and bedtime kisses, but tonight he wasn't going to worry about taking turns nor just telling Ethan he would do it all. They were still both of their kids. He rocked the toddler trying to get him all the more sleepy while the others scurried off and hopefully didn't cause any more screaming and yelling.
And for the first time since his greeting at the airport they were (mostly) alone. On second thoughts he probably should have had Han drop Murtagh off in his crib to take a nap while waiting to be changed into pajamas, but then hindsight was always 20/20. It still didn't stop him from carefully wrapping an arm around Ethan and kissing him without another word.
