Kevin flipped through a mental catalog of the powers he knew people had. Donnie's was in there somewhere. "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while," Kevin smirked and raised his eyebrows. "It wasn't exactly a level playing field, anyways. What's his power? Something like luck manipulation? You try fighting him without a power and him manipulating the odds against you." He scoffed at her assuring him that Donnie wasn't the father of her kids. "At least he was smart enough to get out of a relationship with you. Some other poor guy wasn't very smart though."
Kevin laughed at Emily again. She really thought that what that excuse of a mutant was doing in Congress was helping them? "The last time I checked, our kind are still being discriminated against, denied jobs and having to go into hiding. Your beloved Jimmy Monroe isn't doing shit for us in Congress." He watched her eyes flash between white and green and smirked. "That's a fun trick. You should join us. You'd be such an asset. You'd be worshiped like a goddess."
And suddenly the tables were turning in his favor. Kevin smiled maliciously when he saw the consequence of tugging on the heart string that he had just yanked on. She was crying and losing control of her powers. Kevin laughed and put his hands out and looked at all of the clouds she had created. "You've grown sentimental," he looked down at where she had struck with lightning near his feet and then back up at her. "So weak."
Kevin reached a hand out in front of him, mimicking what he wanted his power to do. An invisible rope wrapped itself around Emily and pulled her close enough to Kevin so that he was right next to her ear. "You really think I want anything to do with your pathetic husband?" He let go of Emily and simultaneously took a step away from her, as if he was disgusted with her. "He can have my sloppy left overs."
